António Reginaldo Matias de Araújo (born October 2, 1977, died January 11, 2016), known simply as Reginaldo Araújo, was a talented Brazilian football player. He was known for playing as a right-back, a position where he helped protect his team's goal. Reginaldo played for many famous clubs in Brazil and even had a short time playing in Portugal.

Reginaldo Araújo's Football Journey
Reginaldo Araújo started his football career at a youth club called Matsubara. He then joined Coritiba in 1997. He played very well at Coritiba, which led to him being chosen for the Brazil U-23 team. He hoped to join the squad for the 2000 Olympic Games.
Playing for Top Brazilian Clubs
In 2001, Reginaldo moved to São Paulo, another big club. After one year, he went back to Coritiba in 2002.
Later, he joined Santos, a team that had just won the national championship. With Santos, he reached the final of the 2003 Copa Libertadores, a very important South American club tournament. His team was the runner-up in that competition. He then played for Flamengo in 2004, where he was also a runner-up in the 2004 Copa do Brasil, another major cup tournament in Brazil.
Later Career and Time in Portugal
After playing for these big clubs, Reginaldo had spells at Noroeste and Santa Cruz. He also played for a short time in Portugal with S.C. Beira-Mar. Reginaldo Araújo then returned to Brazil. He played for Criciúma and spent his last years playing in Paraná state. He retired from playing football in 2010.
Life After Playing Football
After retiring from playing, Reginaldo Araújo worked with youth football teams. He also became a director of football at Corinthians Paulista. In December 2015, he was appointed as an assistant manager for PSTC.
Sad Passing of Reginaldo Araújo
On January 11, 2016, Reginaldo Araújo sadly passed away. He suffered a heart attack during a training session with PSTC.
