Renzo Calegari (born September 5, 1933 – died November 5, 2017) was a famous Italian artist. He was known for drawing comics.

Early Life and First Comics
Renzo Calegari was born in Genoa, a city in Italy. He started studying accounting, but he loved art more. So, he decided to leave his studies. He joined the art studios of Roy d'Ami to learn how to draw.
Just one year later, Renzo started his professional career. This means he began working as an artist. He worked with Gian Luigi Bonelli, another famous writer. Together, they created comic series like El Kid and I Tre Bill. In 1955, they also worked on Davy Crockett.
Drawing War Stories and Westerns
In 1957, Renzo Calegari began working with Fleetway Publications. This was a big company that published many comics. Renzo became very good at drawing comics about war.
Later, in 1967, he teamed up with Gino D'Antonio. They created their most famous work, a long-running comic book series called Storia del West. This series was about the American Old West. Renzo drew many stories for this popular comic. It was published until 1980.
Later Work and Magazines
After a break from drawing, Renzo Calegari started working again in the late 1970s. He drew for several magazines. Some of these magazines included Skorpio, Il Giornalino, Orient Express, and Zodiaco. He continued to create amazing art until 2017.
