Ricco Ross is an American actor. He is well-known for playing Private Frost in the exciting 1986 science fiction action movie Aliens. He has also appeared in many other films and TV shows.

Ricco Ross's Early Life
Ricco Ross was born in Chicago, Illinois. He was the fifth of eight children in his family. He also has three step-sisters and another brother.
His acting journey began in high school. He studied theater at a local college. Then, he went to Florida Atlantic University (FAU). There, he earned a degree in Theater. He later received a special scholarship to attend UCLA. This is where his acting career really started to take off!
His Acting Career
Ricco Ross's first TV appearance was as an extra. This means he was in the background of a scene. It was on the show The Young and the Restless. He then had a small part in Hill Street Blues. He also played the main male role in Whitney Houston's 1985 music video for "Saving All My Love for You."
He became famous for his role as Private Ricco Frost in the movie Aliens (1986). He also appeared in other movies like Death Wish 3 (1985) and Mission Impossible (1996). From the late 1980s to the early 1990s, Ricco lived and worked in the United Kingdom. While there, he was a guest star on the popular show Doctor Who. He also appeared in Jeeves and Wooster.
Today, Ricco Ross continues to act. You can see him in various commercials. He also appears in TV shows across the United States.
Playing Private Frost in Aliens
Ricco Ross originally tried out for a different role in Aliens. He wanted to play Corporal Hicks. He was then offered the part of Private Drake. But he decided to turn it down. He wanted to appear in another movie called Full Metal Jacket.
However, the director, James Cameron, was very impressed with Ricco's audition. So, he decided to create a brand new character just for him! This new character was Private Frost. Because of this, Ricco left the other movie to join the cast of Aliens. In an interview from 2014, Ricco Ross shared a fun fact. He said that Private Frost's first name is actually Robert.
