Richard Crowley (born in 1959) is an Irish journalist and broadcaster. This means he reports news and hosts shows on TV and radio. He used to be a special reporter in the Middle East for RTÉ News. He also co-hosted a TV show called Prime Time. Before he left RTÉ in 2017, he presented the News at One on RTÉ Radio One. He also co-hosted This Week on Sundays with Colm Ó Mongáin.

Richard Crowley's Career
Richard Crowley started his career in journalism in 1976. He began working at the Derry Journal newspaper.
Early Days in TV and Radio
During the 1980s, Richard worked as a reporter and news presenter on RTÉ television. He also hosted a news show called Radharc. Later, he moved to RTÉ Radio. There, he presented Morning Ireland for six years. He also presented the RTÉ News at One.
Reporting from the Middle East
In 2001, Richard went back to RTÉ TV News. He became their special correspondent for the Middle East. He reported from that area until 2009. His book, No Man's Land, was published in October 2007.
Later Work and Awards
In 2009, Richard started hosting a new TV show on RTÉ. It was about Irish business and money. The show was called The Smart Money. From June 2009, he also presented and edited This Week on RTÉ Radio 1.
Richard began co-hosting Prime Time in 2010. He left that role in 2012. He continued to present the News At One on Radio 1 and This Week on RTÉ radio. He resigned from RTÉ in December 2017. In 2015, he won an award. He was named News Broadcaster of the Year at the PPIs. These are the Irish annual radio broadcasting awards.
