  • He also served in Ireland in both 1595 and 1597.

His second wife was Jane, the daughter of Morgan Powell, a merchant from Greenhill, Pembrokeshire. With Jane, Richard Cuney had one son and six daughters. His son, Walter Cuney, also became a captain and served as a Parliamentary officer in Pembrokeshire in 1643.
