Rickety Rocket was a cool animated TV show made by Ruby-Spears Productions. It was shown from 1979 to 1980. This cartoon was actually a part of The Plastic Man Comedy/Adventure Show. It's all about a group of teenage detectives and their special talking rocket!

The story of Rickety Rocket takes place in the far future. Four African-American teenagers are the main characters. Their names are Sunstroke, Splashdown, Cosmo, and Venus.

They build a very unique rocket. This rocket is special because it can think and talk! They call it Rickety Rocket. Together, they form the Far Out Detective Agency. Their job is to solve all sorts of mysteries.

Usually, they end up fighting against clever criminals. Sometimes, these bad guys are disguised as scary monsters. The rocket's famous catchphrase was "Rickety Rocket, blaaaaaaasssssst offffffffffffff!"

How Many Episodes Were There?

The show had a total of 16 episodes. Each episode featured the Far Out Detective Agency solving a new mystery. They faced strange creatures, tricky thieves, and even space pirates!

For example, in one episode, they had to deal with a "Zombie Monster." In another, they chased a "Mysterious Robot Critic" who stole museum items. They even encountered a "Mad Mummy" and a space "Vampire" named Count Draculon!
