The River Conon from Moy Bridge.

The River Conon is a beautiful river located in the Scottish Highlands, a mountainous region in Scotland. It's known in Scottish Gaelic as Conann. This river plays an important part in the local environment and history. It flows through a lovely part of the country, connecting several lochs and other rivers.

Where Does the River Conon Flow?

The River Conon starts its journey at a place called Loch Luichart. A loch is a Scottish word for a lake. From Loch Luichart, the river flows towards the southeast. It travels through different areas, picking up water from other streams and rivers along the way.

Rivers Joining the Conon

As the River Conon continues its path, other rivers join it, making it bigger and stronger. One of the first rivers to join is the River Meig. This happens near a place called Scatwell. After this, the Conon flows through another loch, Loch Achonachie.

Important River Connections

Further along its route, the River Conon meets two more important rivers. The Black Water joins the Conon at Moy Bridge. Later, the River Orrin also flows into the Conon near a place called Urray. These connections help to create a large and active river system in the Highlands.
