Robert H. Holloway (born May 4, 1918 – died November 21, 2005) was an American lawyer and a politician. He served as a state legislator in Illinois, which means he was part of the group that makes laws for the state. He was chosen to be a member of the Illinois House in 1972.

Robert Herrod Holloway was born in Emmet, Arkansas, on May 4, 1918. His parents were Robert Amos Holloway and Francis Holloway.

Military Service

During World War II, Robert Holloway was a soldier. He went to Officer Candidates School, where he learned how to be a leader in the army. He became a Captain and served in North Africa. There, he was in charge of a Port Battalion, which helped manage supplies coming into ports, and a Recreation Facility for soldiers.

Education and Law Career

After the war, Robert Holloway went to Loyola University and earned a law degree in 1949.

He started his own law firm in Chicago. After working as a private lawyer for nine years, he began working for the government. From 1957 to 1967, he was an assistant State's attorney. This means he helped the State's attorney, who is a lawyer for the government, handle legal cases.

In 1962, he ran for the position of clerk of the Illinois appellate court, but he did not win.

Political Career

Robert Holloway became involved in politics as a member of the Republican Party. In 1968, he became a 6th Ward Republican committeeman, which is a local political leader.

From 1968 to 1969, he worked as an assistant to the sheriff of Cook County. By 1972, he was an assistant Illinois Attorney General, helping the state's top lawyer.

As a Republican, he was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives. He represented District 29 from 1973 to 1975, helping to make laws for the people of Illinois.
