Robin Clark is an American singer. She is famous for her work with music stars like David Bowie and Simple Minds. She sang on Bowie's 1975 album Young Americans. She also contributed to Simple Minds' 1985 album Once Upon a Time.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings
Robin Clark was born in New York. In 1967, when she was 17, she started working after school. She worked in a department store in the Bronx. There, she met future singer and songwriter Luther Vandross.
They began singing together. Soon, they joined a group called Listen My Brother. This group had 16 members. The owners of the Apollo Theatre managed the group. While in the group, Clark met and started dating Carlos Alomar. He was a guitarist and also a member of Listen My Brother. They got married in 1970.
Singing with David Bowie
Robin Clark, Luther Vandross, and Carlos Alomar all worked on David Bowie's album Young Americans. This album came out in 1975. You can hear Clark's singing in the background on the album's main song, "Young Americans".
A Career in Music
Since 1969, Robin Clark has been a busy singer. She has performed on many tours and albums. Her voice has also been heard on radio and television shows. She even sang for commercials, like the "Jamaica One Love" jingle.
Clark has also sung for movie soundtracks. She has appeared in films and music videos too.
Working with Simple Minds
In 1985, Robin Clark was a guest singer on the Simple Minds album Once Upon a Time. One newspaper said her voice added a special touch to the album. They even wished Simple Minds would work with more women singers.
Clark appeared in several Simple Minds music videos. These included "All the Things She Said", "Alive and Kicking", and "Sanctify Yourself".
From 1985 to 1986, Clark toured with Simple Minds. This was for their "Once Upon A Time" world tour. She also appeared on their 1987 live concert album, Live in the City of Light. This album was recorded in Paris and Sydney. In 2013, Clark was featured in a BBC documentary. It was called David Bowie's 5 Years.
