Robin Clark's Early Life and Career
Robin Clark was born in New York. When she was 17, she worked at a department store in the Bronx. There, she met Luther Vandross, who would also become a famous singer.
Starting in Music
Robin and Luther started singing together. They joined a large music group called Listen My Brother. This group was managed by the owners of the famous Apollo Theatre.
Marriage and New Beginnings
In the Listen My Brother group, Robin met Carlos Alomar. He was a talented guitarist. Robin and Carlos fell in love and got married in 1970.
