Robin Hart's Soccer Journey
Starting Out: Youth Teams
Robin Hart began his soccer journey playing for local teams in the Manitoba Major Soccer League. He played for clubs like Super Soccer Alliance and Lucania FC. These early experiences helped him develop his skills as a defender.
Playing Professional Soccer
Robin Hart started his professional career in Trinidad and Tobago with a team called San Juan Jabloteh. After that, he moved to Canada.
Time with Ottawa Wizards
In 2001, Robin joined a new team, the Ottawa Wizards, in the Canadian Professional Soccer League (CPSL). He played his first game for them on June 9, 2001. The Wizards won that game 4-0. Robin scored his first goal for the team on September 9, 2001, also in a 4-0 win.
During his time with the Ottawa Wizards, Robin helped them achieve amazing things:
- In 2001, the team had a 13-game winning streak. They finished first in the league standings. They also won the Open Canada Cup, which meant they won "the double" (two major trophies in one season).
- In 2002, the Wizards had another great season with an 11-game winning streak. They won "the treble" (three major trophies). This included the Eastern Conference title, the Rogers Cup (the CPSL Championship), and the Open Canada Cup again. Robin even scored the winning goal in the CPSL Championship final, helping his team win 2-0.
- In 2003, Robin helped the Wizards have an undefeated season. They won their third Eastern Conference title in a row.
Moving to Other Teams
In 2004, the Ottawa Wizards team had to stop playing. Robin then signed with the Edmonton Aviators in the A-League. He played 13 games for them. However, the Aviators also faced financial problems and stopped playing after one season.
In 2005, Robin joined the Toronto Lynx. He played 17 games for them. After that season, his contract was not renewed, and he became a free agent.
Playing for His Country
In 1999, after the Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Robin Hart had a tryout with the Trinidad and Tobago Under 23 team. He earned a spot on the team in September 1999.
