Rodolfo Mondolfo (born August 20, 1877 – died July 15, 1976) was an important Italian thinker. He was a philosopher who lived a long life, spending time in both Italy and Argentina.

Early Life and Education

Rodolfo Mondolfo was born in a town called Senigallia, Italy. His family was well-known and had Jewish roots. He was a bright student and went to two different universities in Italy. He studied at the University of Florence and also at the University of Siena. These universities helped him become the philosopher he was.

A Professor in Italy

After finishing his studies, Rodolfo Mondolfo became a university professor. In 1910, he started teaching at the University of Turin. He taught there for a few years. Later, he moved to teach at the University of Bologna. He also taught at the University of Padova. He spent many years sharing his knowledge with students in Italy.

Life in Argentina

In 1938, Rodolfo Mondolfo had to leave Italy. This was because of special laws called "racial laws." These laws made it very difficult for people of Jewish background to live safely in Italy. So, he moved far away to Argentina.

In Argentina, he continued his work as a professor. He taught at the National University of Córdoba and the National University of Tucumán. Even after World War II ended, when he could have gone back to Italy, he decided to stay in Argentina. He had made a new home there.

Rodolfo Mondolfo lived a very long life and passed away in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
