Sir Roger Puleston (born 1565 – died 13 December 1618) was a Welsh politician. He was a member of the House of Commons, which is like a part of the government, at different times between 1584 and 1611.

Early Life and Education

Roger Puleston was the son of another Sir Roger Puleston, who lived in a place called Emral. Young Roger started studying at Brasenose College, Oxford, on April 27, 1582. This means he began his university education there.

In November 1585, he joined the Inner Temple. This was a special place in London where people trained to become lawyers.

Political Career

Sir Roger Puleston had a long career in politics. He was chosen to be a Member of Parliament (MP) several times. An MP is a person elected to represent an area in the House of Commons.

  • In 1584, he was first elected as an MP for Great Bedwyn.
  • He was elected again for Great Bedwyn in 1586.
  • Later, he became an MP for different areas in Wales.
    • In 1588, he was elected for Flintshire.
    • In 1593, he was elected for Denbighshire.
  • He was elected for Flintshire again in 1604.

Knighthood and Family

Sir Roger Puleston was given the title of Knight on August 28, 1617. This was a special honor from the King.

He was married to Jane Hanmer. Her father was William Hanmer of Hanmer.

Later Life and Death

Sir Roger Puleston passed away on December 13, 1618. He was about 53 years old when he died.
