Ronaldo Ramos Caiado was born on September 25, 1949. He is a well-known Brazilian politician. He is also a doctor who specializes in bones and joints, called an orthopedic physician. He studied medicine at the School of Medicine and Surgery of Rio de Janeiro.
Ronaldo Caiado comes from a family in Goiás that has a long history. His family members were landowners and also involved in politics. His grandfather, Antonio Ramos Caiado, was an important politician many years ago. He served in the Chamber of Deputies and later as a senator. Ronaldo Caiado also led an organization called the União Democrática Ruralista. This group worked to protect the interests of people who owned land.

Becoming a Federal Deputy
In 1990, Ronaldo Caiado was elected as a federal deputy for Goiás. A federal deputy is like a representative in the national parliament. He ran for governor of Goiás in 1994, but he came in third place.

Becoming Governor of Goiás
In October 2018, Ronaldo Caiado ran for governor of the state of Goiás. His running mate, who would become vice-governor, was Lincoln Tejota. He won the election in the first round, receiving a large number of votes. This meant he became the new governor of Goiás. He defeated Daniel Vilela in that election.
Ronaldo Caiado is known as a right-wing politician. He often shares his strong opinions about how the government should work. He has frequently criticized the Workers' Party (PT) government in his speeches.
