Playing with The Jackson 5
Ronnie Rancifer joined The Jackson 5 as their keyboardist when they were just starting out. He played alongside the famous Jackson brothers: Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael. For a long time, Motown Records told people that Ronnie and the group's drummer, Johnny Jackson, were cousins of the Jackson brothers. However, Ronnie and Johnny were not actually related to the Jackson family. Ronnie stayed with the group until 1975.
Songwriting Success
Besides playing keyboards, Ronnie Rancifer also helped write songs for The Jackson 5. One of the songs he co-wrote was "I Am Love." This song was featured on their 1974 album, Dancing Machine. Ronnie had a long career as a songwriter in Los Angeles, California.
Working with Other Artists
After his time with The Jackson 5, Ronnie Rancifer continued his music career. During the 1980s, he worked with other artists who were also part of Motown Records. He also went on tour with the legendary singer Smokey Robinson.
