Roscoe Conklin Born (born November 24, 1950 – died March 3, 2020) was an American actor and songwriter. He was famous for his many roles in TV shows called soap operas. He was especially known for playing the bad guy, Mitch Laurence, on the show One Life to Live. He played this role many times between 1985 and 2012.

Early Life and Acting Start
Roscoe Born was born in Topeka, Kansas. He loved acting and studied it at a place called the Arena Stage workshop. His first professional acting job was in a play called Edith Stein in 1969. Later, in 1979, he won an award for his work in another play, Life in the Theater.
His Acting Career
Roscoe Born appeared most often in daytime TV shows. These shows are often called soap operas.
Famous Soap Opera Roles
- He first appeared on Ryan's Hope as Joe Novak from 1981 to 1983. He returned to that role in 1988.
- He then played the villain Mitch Laurence on One Life to Live. He played this character from 1985 to 1987, and again from 2002 to 2003. He even came back to the role in 2009.
- On Santa Barbara, he played two famous roles. He was Robert Barr from 1989 to 1991. He also played Robert's twin brother, Quinn Armitage, from 1990 to 1991. This role earned him an Emmy Award nomination.
- In 1984, he was a regular on the show Paper Dolls as Mark Bailey.
- From 2005 to 2006, and again in 2009, Born was on The Young and the Restless. He played the character Tom Fisher.
- Many of his roles were as bad guys. But he played a good guy, Nick Rivers, on the show The City from 1995 to 1997. Nick was a musician, which let Born perform his own songs on the show.

Later, Born played Jim Thomasen on All My Children. He also had parts on As the World Turns and Guiding Light. In 2007, he played a prison warden on Passions. From May to September 2008, he played Dean Trent Robbins on Days of Our Lives.

Roscoe Born was married twice. From 1982 to 1990, he was married to actress Randall Edwards. She was also on Ryan's Hope. From 1994 to 2000, he was married to his Santa Barbara co-star Roberta Weiss. They had one daughter named Alberta.
Roscoe Born passed away on March 3, 2020, when he was 69 years old.
