The Post Office Story
A post office is where people send and receive mail. A post office was opened in Rowletts in 1860. It was first called "Rowlett's Depot."
Later, in 1880, its name was changed to "Rowletts." This post office served the community for many years. It finally closed down in 1995.
How Rowletts Got Its Name
The community of Rowletts was named after a person. His name was John W. Rowlett. He was an important official who worked for the railroad.
