History of Rowsburg

Rowsburg was started a long time ago, in 1835. A man named Michael D. Row planned out the community. He decided where the streets and lots would be. This process is called "laying out" and "platting." The community was named after him.

For a while, Rowsburg was also known simply as "Rows." A post office, which helps send and receive mail, opened in Rows in 1840. This post office served the community for many years, until it closed in 1905.
