Rubbadubbers is a fun British children's television series made using stop-motion animation. This means characters are moved slightly and photographed, then the photos are played fast to make them seem alive! The show was created by Peter Curtis and aired in the United Kingdom from 2003 to 2005 on BBC Two. Each episode is about ten minutes long and features seven friendly bath toys who come to life and tell amazing stories.
Before the show officially started, two pilot episodes were made. These were "Plugg" in 1999 and "Splish Splash Splosh!" in 2001.

About the Show
The Rubbadubbers are seven friendly bath toys. They live a peaceful life in the bathroom of a house in a made-up place called Bathsville City. The toys belong to two children, Benjie and Sis, but you never actually see the children in the show!
When Benjie and Sis (or anyone else) are not in the bathroom, the Rubbadubbers come to life. They start playing and having fun. But in every episode, one of the toys isn't happy with how things are going. They wish for something different by saying, "If only..."
Suddenly, the toy starts dreaming about a different world where their wish comes true! Some of the other Rubbadubbers also appear in this dream world. They play different versions of themselves, either helping or causing trouble for the toy who made the wish.
It always turns out that the wish goes wrong in the dream world. The toy then complains again with another "if only...", which stops the dream. From this dream, the character learns an important lesson: be careful what you wish for! They decide it's better to enjoy the real situation as it is.
At the end of each episode, Reg the robot announces that Benjie and Sis are coming for their bath. All the toys then get excited and quickly get ready for bath time!
Meet the Characters
The Rubbadubbers
- Tubb (voiced by John Gordon Sinclair) is a Scottish rubber frog. He is the leader of the group. Tubb loves to clean things with his cotton bud and float on his green lily pad. His catchphrase is 'swimmin'!'
- Sploshy (voiced by Maria Darling) is an energetic English starfish sponge. She has a childish voice and loves to cartwheel. Sploshy can sometimes have a short temper. Her catchphrase is 'splish, splash, splosh!'
- Finbar (voiced by Sean Hughes) is an Irish wind-up shark. He often calls himself 'the mighty, scary shark'. Finbar loves playing games where he pretends to hunt and scare. He uses the word 'mighty' a lot. His pirate-like catchphrase is 'arr, arr, arr!'
- Terence (voiced by John Gordon Sinclair) is an English soap bottle that looks like a crocodile. He can blow bubbles from his nose. Terence really dislikes getting splashed and tries to avoid water. He has a favorite red toothbrush for his one tooth.
- Winona (voiced by Maria Darling) is a purple rubber baby whale. She can't speak words but makes cute squeaking sounds to talk. Winona can squirt water from her blowhole and do cool tail tricks.
- Reg (voiced by John Gordon Sinclair) is an Australian toy robot. He helps lead the Rubbadubbers. Like Terence, Reg avoids water because it makes him malfunction. He often stutters when he speaks. Reg is always watching for Benjie and Sis. His catchphrase is: 'Rubbadubbers! Rubbadubbers! Benjie and Sis/the children are coming! Bath time scramble!'
- Amelia (voiced by Maria Darling) is an English toy that is part aeroplane and part submarine. She is often called 'the flying submarine'. Amelia is very energetic and happy. She loves to try new things, fly around the bathroom, and do tricks.
Other Characters
- Benjie and Sis are the two children who own the Rubbadubbers. You never see them, but they are the reason the toys get ready for bath time!
