Russell the Sheep is a fun picture book for kids, written by Rob Scotton in 2005. It tells the story of a sheep named Russell who just can't seem to fall asleep!
What's the Story About?
Russell is a friendly sheep who has a big problem: he can't fall asleep! He tries many things to get some rest. First, he thinks maybe it needs to be dark. But Russell is scared of the dark! Then he wonders if he's too hot, or maybe too cold.
When none of these ideas work, Russell tries counting things. He counts his own feet. He counts the stars in the sky, all "6 hundred million billion and ten" of them! Still, he is wide awake. Finally, Russell has a brilliant idea. He decides to count sheep! This clever trick finally helps him drift off to sleep.
