Sérgio Echigo (セルジオ 越後, Serujio Echigo, born 28 July 1945) is a famous former football player and commentator from Brazil. He has Japanese family roots and played as a midfielder, which is a position in the middle of the field.

He started playing for a team called Corinthians in 1963. Later, from 1972 to 1974, he played for Towa Estate Development in Japan's main football league, the Japan Soccer League.

Sérgio Echigo's Amazing Skills

Sérgio Echigo was known for his amazing football skills. He was very good at feints (fake moves) and dribbling (moving the ball with your feet).

He even invented a special dribbling move called the 'Elastico' or 'flip-flap'. Another famous Brazilian player, Rivellino, learned this move from Sérgio when they played together at Corinthians in 1964. Rivellino then made the move even more famous!
