Sólrún Michelsen was born in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, on March 11, 1948. She grew up in a place called Argir. Sólrún is a talented writer and poet from the Faroe Islands. She has won important awards for her books. In 2002, she received the Tórshavn City Council's Children's Book Prize. Later, in 2008, she won the Faroese Literature Prize.
