Saboten Con is a fun, four-day event held every year in Phoenix, Arizona. It's a big gathering for fans of anime and Japanese culture. The event takes place at the Sheraton Grand Phoenix around Labor Day weekend. The name "Saboten" comes from a Japanese word that means "cactus." This is a nod to Arizona's desert landscape!

History of Saboten Con
Saboten Con started in 2008. It quickly became a popular event. In 2010, the Phoenix New Times newspaper even called it the "Best Anime Convention."
Sadly, Saboten Con 2020 had to be canceled. This happened because of the COVID-19 pandemic, which made large gatherings unsafe. But the convention has returned and continues to be a favorite for anime fans!
