Colonel Maharaja Sir Sajjan Singh was an important ruler, known as the Maharana of the princely state of Udaipur. He was born on July 18, 1859, and ruled from 1874 until his death on December 23, 1884.

Sajjan Singh was the son of Shakti Singh from a place called Bagore. He became the Maharana because his first cousin, Maharana Shambhu Singh, adopted him. When Shambhu Singh passed away in 1874, Sajjan Singh took over as ruler. Later, Sajjan Singh also adopted Fateh Singh, who would become the next Maharana. Fateh Singh was from a different branch of the royal family, connected to Sangram Singh II.
