Samuel Oluwaseyi Adegoke is an actor from Nigeria and America. He is well-known for his role as Jeff Colby in the TV show Dynasty.
About Sam Adegoke
Sam Adegoke was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota and St. Paul, Minnesota, in the United States. His parents were missionary ministers. They moved to the U.S. when Sam was a young child. He is the youngest of seven children in his family.
Sam went to the University of Minnesota. There, he studied marketing and finance. He was also very involved in student life. He was the president of the Black Student Union. He was also the vice-president of his fraternity. Plus, he served in the student government.
In 2015, Sam won a big competition called ABC Discovers: Digital Talent Competition. Over 7,000 people tried out for it! Today, Sam Adegoke lives in Los Angeles, California.
Sam's Acting Career
On January 30, 2017, Sam Adegoke got a main role in a TV movie. It was a film for Lifetime called Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland. In it, he played Michael Jackson's bodyguard, Javon Beard. Sam also had a repeating role on Murder in the First. He appeared as a guest star on shows like Code Black and NCIS: Los Angeles.
In February 2017, Sam was cast as Jeff Colby in a new version of the show Dynasty. This show started in October 2017 on The CW. Sam had a great idea for his character. He suggested to the show's creator, Sallie Patrick, that Jeff Colby should be Nigerian. This idea was used in the show! It even led to Hakeem Kae-Kazim being cast as Jeff's father, Cecil Colby. Because of this, some scenes in the show included both English and the Yoruba language. This showed off the characters' Nigerian culture.
In 2018, Sam Adegoke acted in an independent film called 8000 Shots. This movie was written and directed by Talia Lugacy. It was also partly produced by actress Rosario Dawson. The film was later renamed This Is Not a War Story and came out in 2021.
In June 2023, Sam was cast in a new film. It's called Dark Days & the Dawn. This is another movie from the same director as This Is Not a War Story, Talia Lugacy. Sam said that working on This Is Not a War Story was very important to him. He was excited to work with Talia again. He said they trust each other a lot.
In 2024, Sam Adegoke got a repeating role in a TV mini-series. It's for Peacock and is called Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.
