History of Sam Bond's Garage
Early Days of the Building
The building where Sam Bond's Garage is now located has a long history. It was built between 1918 and 1923. A man named Sam C. Bond bought the property in 1926. He was the grandson of early settlers in the Eugene area.
Sam C. Bond ran a garage business there for many years. He was also involved in local government. From 1930 to 1942, he served on the Eugene City Council. He helped guide the city through a very tough economic time called the Great Depression. Sam Bond retired from his garage business in 1972.
Becoming a Music Spot
After Sam Bond retired, the building changed. In 1995, it became a fun night spot. That's when Sam Bond's Garage opened its doors. It quickly became known for showing off talented musicians from the region.
