Sam & Dave were a famous American music duo who sang soul and R&B songs. They performed together from 1961 until 1981. The higher voice belonged to Sam Moore (born in 1935). The lower voice was Dave Prater (1937–1988).
People called them "Double Dynamite" and "The Dynamic Duo." This was because their live shows were full of energy and excitement. They were known for their powerful, gospel-style singing. Many musicians, like Bruce Springsteen and Michael Jackson, said Sam & Dave influenced their music. The famous group The Blues Brothers also loved Sam & Dave.
