Samukh (Azerbaijani: Samux) is a special area, like a county or district, in the country of Azerbaijan. The name "Samukh" comes from an old language spoken by people called Caucasian Albanians. It means "Forest Hunting Place," which tells us a bit about what the area might have been like long ago!
History of Samukh
Samukh has a very long history. Around Nəbiağalı, which is the main town of the Samukh district, people have found ancient burial mounds. These mounds are from the Bronze Age, a time thousands of years ago when people used bronze tools and weapons. These discoveries help us learn about the ancient people who lived here.
