San Alberto is a city in Paraguay. It is located in the Alto Paraná department. This city is about 439 kilometers (about 273 miles) away from Asunción, which is the capital city of Paraguay.
San Alberto has grown very fast. Today, it is the most important city in the northern part of the Alto Paraná department.
How San Alberto Started
The city of San Alberto was founded by a man named Alberto Fernández Valenzuela. He was a captain in the Paraguayan navy. He also led a company called Empresa Colonizadora Industrial Mbaracayu S.A., which helped develop new areas.
When it first started, the area was known as "Gleba 6." It was part of another district called Hernandarias.
