Climate and Environment
The climate in San Marcos de Colón is often called tropical. However, because of its higher altitude, between 3,500 and 5,000 feet (960 meters) above sea level, it can feel more temperate. This means it's not always super hot like some tropical places.
The area can get quite dusty during the dry season, which usually lasts from January through March. Sadly, a lot of trees have been cut down for farming. This deforestation can affect the local climate and environment.
