Sandra Sue Hutchens (born March 18, 1955 – died January 4, 2021) was an important American law enforcement officer. She served as the Sheriff-Coroner for Orange County, California. A sheriff is like the chief police officer for a county.
Sandra Hutchens was first chosen for this role on June 10, 2008. She took over from Jack Anderson. Before becoming sheriff, she had retired from a high-ranking position in the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. She was later elected by voters in 2010 and again in 2014. In 2017, she decided not to run for sheriff a third time. She supported Don Barnes, who then became the next sheriff.
