About Sandrine Veysset
Sandrine Veysset was born in Avignon, France. She first studied French literature in school. However, she soon decided to follow her dream of making movies. In 1989, a friend helped her meet Léos Carax, a famous film director. Sandrine started working for him as a driver. This was during the filming of "The Lovers on the Bridge."
This experience was her first real look into how movies are made. She even became an assistant to the art director on that film. This encouraged her to start writing her own movie script in 1991.
Her First Film Success
Sandrine Veysset directed her first movie in 1995. This film was called Will It Snow for Christmas? It was released in 1996. The movie was a big success. In 1997, she won a special award called a César Award. This award was for Best First Film. It showed that she was a rising talent in the film world.
Later Works
Her third film, Martha...Martha, was released in 2001. This movie was chosen to open a special film event. It was shown at the Directors' Fortnight section of the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. This is a very important film festival.
