Sandy Hook, Indiana facts for kids
Sandy Hook is a small place in Daviess County, Indiana, in the United States. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and people living together, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does. Instead, it's managed by the larger county government.
History
Sandy Hook once had a post office, which is a place where people can send and receive mail. When the post office was open, the name was sometimes spelled as one word: Sandyhook. The post office first opened its doors in 1899. However, it did not stay open for very long. It closed the very next year, in 1900.
