Sant Jaume d'Enveja (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈsan ˈdʒawme ðamˈbejʒa]) is a town in Catalonia, Spain. It is a municipality located in the Montsià area. This area is also known as a comarca.
The town is found in the southern part of the Ebro Delta. It sits on the right side of the Ebro River. Sant Jaume d'Enveja became its own municipality in 1978. Before that, it was part of the larger town of Tortosa.
You can reach Amposta from Sant Jaume d'Enveja by a local road. To get to Deltebre, which is on the other side of the river, you can take a barge.

History of Sant Jaume d'Enveja
Sant Jaume d'Enveja is a fairly new town. It was started around the 1860s. This is because the delta itself has only formed over the last few hundred years. The delta was created by sand and mud carried by the river.
In 1990, Sant Jaume d'Enveja became part of the Montsià region. Before that, it was part of the Baix Ebre area. This change happened during a review of the regions.
What People Do in Sant Jaume d'Enveja
The main way people make a living here is through farming. They grow a lot of rice.
Tourism is also very important. Many people visit because of the beautiful nature in the Ebro Delta national park. This park is known for its many different kinds of plants and animals. On Buda Island, there is a lighthouse that visitors can see.
