For a long time, Sant Martí d'Albars was part of the Osona comarca. However, the people of the town wanted to join a new comarca called Lluçanès.
In 2015, the town voted on this idea. The plan was put on hold because it didn't get enough support at that time. But the idea didn't go away!
Finally, in 2023, Sant Martí d'Albars officially became part of the new Lluçanès comarca. This change helped group towns with similar interests and geography together.
