The Santa Fe University of Art and Design (often called SFUAD) was a private school in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was a four-year university that focused on arts and design.
The school first opened in 1859. Back then, it was known as St. Michael's College. In 1874, the government gave the college a special permission called a charter. This charter allowed the school to officially give out degrees to its students.
Over the years, the school changed its name. In 1966, it became the College of Santa Fe. Then, in 2010, it changed its name one last time to the Santa Fe University of Art and Design.
One cool thing about the school was its big movie studio. Many movies were filmed there, which made it a special place for students interested in filmmaking. In 2013, the cost to attend for one year was about $27,996. The school closed its doors in 2018.
