A Look Back: Santa Rosa's History

Santa Rosa has a simple but interesting history.

  • Post Office: A post office was opened in Santa Rosa in 1875. This was a very important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office stayed open for many years, finally closing its doors in 1954.
  • Schoolhouse: Besides the post office, Santa Rosa also had its own school. It was called the Santa Rosa School. Schools like this were often the heart of small communities, where children from local families would gather to learn.
