Santiago Tilantongo is a town and a "municipality" in the state of Oaxaca, located in southwestern Mexico. A municipality is like a local government area, similar to a county or district. This town is part of the Nochixtlán District, which is in the southeastern part of the Mixteca Region.

In 2005, about 3,348 people lived in Santiago Tilantongo. They lived in 827 homes. Many people there speak an indigenous language, which is a language native to the area. Most residents, almost everyone, are Roman Catholic.
