Santo Tomás is a town located in the southern part of Peru. It is the main town, or 'capital,' of an area called Chumbivilcas Province. This province is part of the larger Cusco Region.

Santo Tomás has a unique climate because it's high up in the mountains. The weather changes throughout the year. It can be warm during the day but gets quite cool at night, especially in the middle of the year.

Temperatures Throughout the Year
The warmest months in Santo Tomás are usually November and October. During these months, the daytime temperatures can reach around 24 to 25 degrees Celsius. The coolest months are June and July, when temperatures might be around 21 to 22 degrees Celsius.
Nighttime temperatures can drop quite a bit. In June and July, it can even go below freezing, around -1 to -1.5 degrees Celsius. In other months, like January and February, the nights are milder, around 7 degrees Celsius.
Rain and Dry Seasons
Santo Tomás experiences a rainy season and a dry season. The most rain falls from January to March. During these months, the town can get over 160 millimeters of rain each month.
The driest months are from May to August. In June and July, there is very little rain, sometimes just a few millimeters. The amount of rain starts to increase again in September and October.
