Christopher Lee Schamber, known to his fans as Savage Sun, is an American rapper and hip hop artist. He is from Stockton, California.

Biography

Early Career and Rise to Fame

Savage Sun has been making music and performing since the late 1990s. However, he started using the name Savage Sun in 2003. He became well-known in the underground hip-hop world around 2009. This happened when URB magazine named him one of their "Next 1000" artists.

A reviewer from URB magazine, Aylin Zafar, praised his music. She said his sound was "unique and emotional." She noted how he mixed classical music with strong beats and his powerful rapping style.

In February 2009, Savage Sun's song "The Reason" became very popular. It received over 1.6 million dedications on iLike across Facebook. This made it the most dedicated song on Facebook that month.

Savage Sun has been featured in many newspapers across the United States. These include the Tri-City Herald, The Record, and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. His music has also been reviewed in magazines like URB Magazine and Murder Dog Magazine.

The Art Of Being Alive

On September 23, 2007, Savage Sun released his first full album, "The Art Of Being Alive." The physical version of the album came with a DVD. The DVD included a music video for the song "Tight Grip On Nothing" and other interactive features.

The album was released by the independent label "Sentient Productions." It was professionally mastered by Stephen Marsh. "The Art Of Being Alive" was released to listeners in 19 countries across four continents. It was also available in the Caribbean Islands.

The album received many good reviews. Brad Bush from CD Baby called it "One of the best we've ever heard." CD Baby also chose it as an editor's pick and featured it on their website's front page.

Ian Hill of the Stockton Record said the album had "complex, layered beats" and Savage Sun's "intense delivery." He compared Savage Sun to artists like Atmosphere and Sage Francis. Hill also noted that it was "refreshing to hear another voice taking rap in a different direction."

Marc Cabrera of the Monterey Herald described the album as "A live wire mix of esoteric lyricism and mood music inspired by the seasons." He felt the album showed Savage Sun's connection to the Earth and humanity.

Rebel's Odyssey

On August 27, 2013, Savage Sun released his second solo album, an EP called "Rebel's Odyssey." An EP is a shorter album. The physical version of this album came with a 20-page comic book. The comic book told the story of Savage Sun's origin. It also matched an animated music video for the song "Forced."

The album included "Bridge Da Gap," which was the first song from an international project. This song featured rappers from three different continents, rapping in Spanish, German, and English. The album also had "The T.aK.eO.ver," with a special guest, Pete Rock.

"Rebel's Odyssey" was released by the independent label "Globe Massive Entertainment." Stephen Marsh also mastered this album. In March 2014, The Monterey Herald published an interview about the new album. In November 2013, "Rebel's Odyssey" was considered for Album of the Year by KDHX Radio. It placed third overall.

On February 20, 2015, Savage Sun released his third music video. It was for the song "I Can(t) Change" from the "Rebel's Odyssey" EP.

Acting Roles

Besides his music videos, Savage Sun has acted in two independent films. These films are called "I Am D.B. Cooper" and "Pill." Both movies were made by Team Wood Films.

In "I Am D.B. Cooper," Savage Sun played a manager who had to fire an employee. This film was only released on YouTube.
