Saïd Amara (born March 11, 1933 – died August 2, 2020) was a famous Algerian football player and coach. He was born in Saïda, a city in Algeria. Amara played as a Midfielder during his career. He was known for his skills on the field. After he stopped playing, he became a successful football manager.

Saïd Amara's Early Life and Playing Career

Saïd Amara started his football journey in his home country, Algeria. He played for local clubs like MC Saïda and USM Bel-Abbès in the early 1950s. These teams helped him develop his talent as a midfielder.

Moving to French Clubs

Amara's skills were noticed, and he moved to France to play for bigger clubs. From 1956 to 1957, he played for Strasbourg. He played 24 games for them and scored 3 goals. After that, he joined Béziers and played there from 1957 to 1960. He had a great time at Béziers, playing 89 games and scoring 28 goals.

Playing for Bordeaux

One of the most important parts of his club career was playing for Bordeaux. He was with Bordeaux from 1960 to 1964. During his time there, he played 40 games and scored 9 goals. Bordeaux is a well-known club in French football. After his time in France, he returned to his first club, MC Saïda, in Algeria, where he played until 1968. Overall, he played 151 club games and scored 40 goals.

Playing for His Country: Algeria

Saïd Amara also had the honor of playing for his national team. In 1960, he was part of the FLN football team. This team was special because it was formed by Algerian players who wanted to show their country's identity during a difficult time.
