Seal of Arkansas facts for kids

The official state seal of Arkansas
The official state seal of Arkansas is a special symbol that represents the state. It was first chosen in 1864. The seal was later updated to its current look on May 23, 1907. This design is still used today.
The center part of the seal shows several important figures. You can see an Angel of Mercy, which represents kindness and help. There is also a Sword of Justice, showing fairness and law. A Goddess of Liberty stands for freedom. These figures are placed around a bald eagle, which is a symbol of strength and the United States.
The words "Great Seal of the State of Arkansas" are written around the outer edge of the seal. This clearly identifies it as the official mark of Arkansas.
