Sean Mannion was born on October 6, 1956, in Rosmuc, a place in County Galway, Ireland. He became a famous boxer who competed in the light middleweight division. This means he fought against other boxers who weighed between 147 and 154 pounds (about 66.7 to 69.9 kilograms). During his boxing career, Sean lived and trained in Massachusetts, United States.
One of the most important fights in his career was against Mike McCallum. Sean fought Mike for the WBA light middleweight title, which was an important championship belt. Sean fought for fifteen rounds, but he lost the fight by a unanimous decision from the judges.
