Sean Reinert facts for kids
Sean Landon Reinert (born May 27, 1971 – died January 24, 2020) was a very talented American musician. He was best known as a drummer. Sean was a founding member of the progressive metal band Cynic. He also played drums for the rock band Æon Spoke. Sean looked up to many drummers. Some of his biggest influences were Kenny Clarke, John Bonham, and Neil Peart.

Sean's Musical Journey
Early Career and New Sounds
In 1991, Sean Reinert joined the band Death. He worked with his friend Paul Masvidal from Cynic. They recorded an album called Human. Many people think this album helped start a new style of music. This style is known as technical death metal. After touring with Death, Sean went back to playing with Cynic.
Cynic's Important Albums
In 1993, Cynic released their album Focus. This album was very important for technical and progressive metal music. It was so popular that the record company, Roadrunner Records, re-released it later. Sean also worked on music for TV shows and movies. He moved to Los Angeles to continue his music career.
Forming Æon Spoke
In 1999, Sean helped create a new band called Æon Spoke. He formed it with Paul Masvidal. This band played a style of music called "ethereal rock." Æon Spoke released albums in 2004 and 2007. Their music was played on the radio. They even had songs featured in TV shows and movies.
Cynic's Return
Cynic got back together for a tour in 2007. After the tour, they recorded a new album. It was called Traced in Air and came out in 2008. They went on more tours after that. In 2009, Cynic recorded a new EP, which is like a mini-album. It was released in 2010. Sean Reinert passed away on January 24, 2020.

Many other musicians were inspired by Sean Reinert. They looked up to his drumming skills. Some famous drummers who said Sean influenced them include Brann Dailor from Mastodon and Dirk Verbeuren from Soilwork and Megadeth.
