Sebastian Kienle (born 6 July 1984) is a German long-distance triathlete. He is famous for winning the 2014 Ironman World Championship. He also won the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in 2012 and 2013.

Becoming a Triathlon Star

Sebastian Kienle first saw a triathlon when he was 8 years old. Right away, he knew he wanted to be a professional triathlete. He started competing in triathlons when he was 12.

In 2005, Sebastian took part in his first XTERRA Triathlon in Germany. He won that race and felt it was "an absolutely great race." This win made him want to come back the next year, and he won again!

Early Wins and Challenges

In 2009, Sebastian won the Ironman 70.3 Germany race in Wiesbaden. He beat Michael Raelert, who was a 70.3 World Champion. In 2010, he came in second place at the Challenge Roth triathlon, just behind Rasmus Henning.

In 2012, Sebastian showed off his amazing biking skills. This helped him win the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. A month later, he competed in the 2012 Ironman World Championship. He finished 4th, even though he had a flat tire during the bike part! He still had the second fastest bike time that day.

The next year, in 2013, Sebastian didn't have his best season. But he still managed to win the Ironman 70.3 World Championship again! His strong bike leg helped him win by two minutes over Terenzo Bozzone.
