Seiichiro Okuno was born in Sakai, Japan, on July 26, 1974. He grew up loving football and became a professional player.
Starting His Career
After finishing high school, Okuno joined a team called Yokohama Flügels in 1993. He started playing more regularly in 1995 as a "center back." A center back is a key defender who plays in the middle of the field, protecting the goal.
Moving to Omiya Ardija
In 1998, Okuno moved to Omiya Ardija, another football club. He quickly became a very important player for them. He helped Omiya Ardija get promoted to the J2 League in 1999. This meant they moved up to a higher division of professional football.
In 2004, his team finished second in the J2 League. This amazing achievement meant they were promoted again, this time to the top league, the J1 League, for the 2005 season.
Later Years and Retirement
From 2006, Okuno played fewer games for Omiya Ardija. He decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2007 season. Throughout his career, Seiichiro Okuno played 300 league games and scored 7 goals. He was a dedicated defender for his teams.
