Seltzer is a small community in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It's called a census-designated place (CDP), which means it's an area identified by the government for counting people. However, it is not a city or town with its own local government. In 2000, about 307 people lived there. Seltzer is part of Norwegian Township.

History of Seltzer
Seltzer got its name from Conrad Seltzer. He was a German immigrant who came to the area in the 1800s. Conrad Seltzer started a business that prepared and packaged meat. His company, the Seltzer Packing Company, grew to be one of the biggest of its kind in Pennsylvania.
Conrad Seltzer was also involved in local government. In 1864, he was elected as the treasurer for Schuylkill County for one term. He ran as a member of the Democratic political party. His family members who came after him also became important in business and politics in Schuylkill County.

Seltzer is located at 40°41′47″N 76°14′8″W / 40.69639°N 76.23556°W. This means its exact spot on a map is 40.696252 degrees north and -76.235543 degrees west.
The United States Census Bureau says that Seltzer covers a total area of about 0.1 square miles (0.2 square kilometers). All of this area is land, meaning there are no large bodies of water within the CDP.

Seltzer in Pop Culture
In January 2020, a big company called Anheuser-Busch launched a new drink called Bud Light Seltzer. To advertise it, they made TV commercials that showed a fake "mayor" from a "town" called Seltzer, Pennsylvania. They called this fake town the "unofficial spokes-town" for their new product.
The company also did something nice for the real Seltzer. Anheuser-Busch gave $15,000 to the Seltzer fire company. They also threw a special party in Seltzer to celebrate the launch of their new drink.
