Serge Georges Jr. was born in April 1970. He is an American lawyer and a very important judge. He serves as an associate justice on the highest court in Massachusetts. This court is called the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Before this, he was a judge for the Boston Municipal Court from 2013 to 2020.

His Education and Learning
Serge Georges Jr. went to college and law school. He earned his first degree, a Bachelor of Arts, from Boston College in 1992. After that, he went to Suffolk University Law School. He earned his law degree, called a Juris Doctor, in 1996.
His Career as a Lawyer and Teacher
Mr. Georges worked as a lawyer at several different law firms. He was a partner at Barron & Stadfeld, P.C. He also worked as a managing director for Major, Lindsey & Africa, LLC. Later, he opened his own law office.
He has also been a teacher at Suffolk University Law School since 1999. There, he teaches law students about professional rules and how to argue cases in court. He also teaches about trial advocacy at the University of Massachusetts School of Law.
His Work as a Judge
Serving on the Boston Municipal Court
In 2013, Governor Deval Patrick chose Serge Georges Jr. to be a judge. He became a judge for the Boston Municipal Court. From 2014 to 2018, he was in charge of the Dorchester Drug Court. This special court helps people dealing with drug issues.
Joining the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court
On November 17, 2020, Governor Charlie Baker nominated Mr. Georges for a new role. He was chosen to be an associate justice on the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. This position became open when Justice Kimberly S. Budd became the chief justice.
On December 9, 2020, the Massachusetts Governor's Council agreed with the choice. They all voted for him, which is called a unanimous confirmation. Serge Georges Jr. officially became a justice on December 16, 2020.
