Sergei Nikolayevich Revin, born on January 12, 1966, in Moscow, is a Russian cosmonaut. He was chosen to become a cosmonaut in 1996 and finished his special space training in 1998.
Sergei Revin flew to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2012. He spent several months living and working in space as part of a team.

About Sergei Revin
Sergei Revin is married to Irina Setyanova. They have a son named Yaroslav, who was born in 2000.
When he's not training for space, Sergei enjoys many fun activities. He likes to travel, go skiing, and even water skiing. He also enjoys flying in hot air balloons and taking photos and videos.
Education and Early Work
Sergei Revin studied at the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology. He graduated in 1989 and became an engineer-physicist. Later, he continued his studies and earned another degree in 2013.
After college, Sergei worked as an engineer for a company called NPO IT. This company made measuring equipment. He worked there from 1989 to 1993. Then, he worked as an engineer at NPO-Energia, a famous space company, until 1996.
Becoming a Cosmonaut
In April 1996, Sergei Revin was chosen to join the NPO-Energia cosmonaut team. He began his basic space training course, which lasted until June 1998. After finishing this training, he was officially qualified as a test cosmonaut.
From 1998 to 2011, he worked as a test cosmonaut for the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation. In 2011, he moved to the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. He spent many years training for missions to the International Space Station. He even trained as a backup crew member for earlier space missions.
In April 2017, Sergei Revin left the Cosmonaut Training Center for health reasons.
His Space Mission: Expedition 31/32
Sergei Revin served as a Flight Engineer for the long-duration Expedition 31 and Expedition 32 missions on the International Space Station.
He launched into space aboard the Soyuz TMA-04M spacecraft on May 15, 2012. His crewmates were Gennady Padalka and NASA astronaut Joe Acaba. Two days later, on May 17, 2012, their spacecraft successfully docked with the International Space Station.
Sergei Revin and his crewmates spent many months living and working on the ISS. They returned safely to Earth, landing in Kazakhstan on September 17, 2012.
