The Serra d'Espadà (also known as Sierra de Espadán in Spanish) is a mountain range in Spain. It stretches for about 51 kilometers (32 miles) in the Province of Castellón. This area is part of the Valencian Community.

The highest point in the Serra d'Espadà is a peak called La Ràpita. It stands tall at 1,106 meters (3,629 feet) above sea level. A road named N-234 goes near the Serra d'Espadà. It connects to the coast at Sagunto.

Special Olive Oil from the Mountains

The Serra d'Espadà is close to another mountain range called Serra Calderona. These two ranges form a special natural area near the Mediterranean Sea. Many olive trees grow on the hillsides of these mountains.

The olives from these trees are used to make excellent olive oil. This oil has a special award called a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO). This means the oil is known for its quality and comes only from this specific region.

The oil is also part of the Ark of Taste. This is a list of important foods that might be in danger of disappearing. The olive oil from these mountains is sold as Aceite de las Sierras Espadán y Calderona.

Serra d'Espadà Natural Park

These mountains are home to special Cork Oak forests. You can also find many natural springs and cool, shady valleys. A large part of the area is protected as the Serra d'Espadà Natural Park.

This park is very well-kept and has many paths. These paths are clearly marked, making it easy for hikers to explore the beautiful nature.
