Shaila Scott started her exciting career in radio after finishing college. She has worked at several popular radio stations.
Early Career and Education
Shaila went to Buffalo State College. She studied radio and television there. She earned her degree in 1985. Her very first job on the radio was at a station called WBLK in Buffalo. She worked there for four years.
Making Waves in New York Radio
After her time in Buffalo, Shaila came back to New York City. She joined WBLS for six years. Later, in 1994, she moved to 98.7 KISS FM. She became the first host of a popular show called Kissing After Dark. Shaila also co-hosted the morning show, The Wake Up Club, for five years. She worked with other well-known hosts like Jeff Foxx, Talent, and Bob Slade.
Awards and Return to WBLS
Shaila Scott is a talented radio host. In 2010, she and Fred Buggs received a special award. It was called the Excellence In Radio Broadcast Journalism Award. This award recognized their great work in radio. When KISS FM closed, Shaila returned to WBLS in April 2012. She continues to be a popular voice on the radio.
